Pathways Alumni Impact Study

We need your help! Pathways to Education is collaborating with the Government of Canada to look at the long-term impact of the program on alumni.

How to Take Part:

  • Eligibility: Pathways alumni aged 18 years or older.
  • Simply fill in the survey. The survey closes on March 14, 2025.
  • Participation is voluntary and will take approximately 3-5 minutes.
  • Successful participation requires you to complete the entire survey.

Reward:
To thank you for your time, everyone who completes this survey will receive:

  • A $5 credit for Giftbit
  • A chance to win one of 100 Giftbit cards worth $50 each

The rewards will be sent in April to the email address provided in the survey.

We kindly ask that you complete this survey just once. If you submit multiple entries, we may have to disqualify you from receiving a Giftbit credit, and you won’t be entered into the draw for the $50 gift card.

By taking part in this study, you consent to Pathways to Education Canada collecting your information for research purposes, including sharing the information you provide with Statistics Canada, who will use their databases to better understand how the Pathways Program contributes to education and labour market outcomes for young people.

How Your Data Will Be Used 

  • Pathways to Education Canada will collect the data and use it for research purposes only, including sharing it with Statistics Canada.
  • Statistics Canada will link your information to datasets such as the Education and Labour Market Longitudinal Platform (ELMLP) for research purposes, including studying education and job outcomes over time.
  • The resulting anonymized data will be used by Pathways to Education Canada and the Government of Canada to improve understanding of education and career pathways, while keeping your information safe and confidential.

Data Privacy and Confidentiality

If you choose to fill out this survey, Pathways to Education can assure you that:

  • Data collected through this survey will be stored securely and managed as restricted information by Pathways to Education Canada staff.
  • Your data will remain strictly confidential and will only be shared securely with Statistics Canada, as permitted under the Privacy Act and the Statistics Act.
  • This information will be used exclusively for research purposes.
  • The final analysis resulting from this study will aggregate responses across all participants, and no individual results will be shared. For an example of the type of analyses possible with this information, please see this study by Statistics Canada on post-secondary students.
  • Statistics Canada will destroy the data that we share with them, with no copy or portion retained, after the study is completed and any required retention period has passed. The retention period for this study ends on March 31, 2030.

Refusal or Withdrawal from the Survey

  • You may withdraw from the survey at any time by closing your browser. Incomplete responses will be excluded from the analysis.

  • Refusing to participate or discontinuing participation will not result in any consequences or loss of benefits.
